Origin of the Name “Vema”
Originally, the name was created from a combination of the company’s activities and locations: “VE” stood for packaging services (“Verpackungsleistung”), while Munich served as the sales location and Augsburg as the production site. This resulted in the name “VErpackung München Augsburg.”
Another explanation, frequently used since the company’s founding in 1970, is that Vema also stands for the slogan “Viel Erfahrung mit Aerosolen” (“A Great Deal of Experience with Aerosols”).
The addition “Industrie-Verpackung,” which primarily emphasized packaging services, no longer accurately reflects the company’s extensive development into a high-performance full-service provider of aerosol solutions for the cosmetics, medical products, and chemical-technical sectors. For this reason, the suffix will no longer be used.
Sharpened Corporate Profile and Innovative Services
With PhD chemists in its in-house development department, including laboratory and mixing facilities for the production of bulk goods in process systems, Vema is ideally positioned for innovative full-service product concepts. Its processes are certified according to IFS HPC, DIN ISO 13485, and DIN ISO 9001 standards.
“We are continuing to develop our services and competencies in a focused manner and will present new sustainable product solutions and innovative ideas throughout 2021,” announced Kristian Kläger, Managing Partner.
